Cancer Prehabilitation & Rehabilitation

Our Specialist Oncology Physiotherapists offer a range of treatments.


A 1 hour consultation with a Specialist Physiotherapist includes a detailed medical history and physical assessment.  We will establish where you are in your treatment pathway, diagnose/consider any existing musculoskeletal injuries or co-morbidities and review your personal goals.

Treatment includes:

  • Physiotherapy Massage
  • Graduated Exercise Prescriptions
  • 1:1 Pilates and strength and conditioning
  • Prehabilitation/ pre-operative exercise guidance

We can help with….

  • Cancer related fatigue
  • Peripheral Neuropathy
  • Exercise prescription providing you with confidence that you are exercising safely and in accordance with consultant advice
  • Liaise with Oncology teams and your GP for comprehensive care

  • Monitor your safety to exercise
  • Pelvic floor weaknesses and urinary dysfunction
  • Nutrition and diet education

  • Telephone, zoom or face to face consultations
  • Face to face, live stream classes and subscription based on demand exercises specific for cancer rehabilitation

  • Physical assessments and treatments provided by our Specialist Oncology Rehabilitation Physiotherapists Anna Clayton, Erica Dyson and Hayley Jarvill
  • Onsite Gym with Ben Durham Cancer rehabilitation trained Personal trainer

Mindful Movement (Cancer Exercise) Class

Every Friday 3.30-4.10pm at Bury Physio Clinic.


Led by Cancer Rehabilitation and Lymphoedema Specialist Physiotherapists Erica Dyson and Anna Clayton.

The 6 week free class is available with funding through My Wish Charity

and/or with funding through PINC & STEEL @pincandsteelfoundation

Self Funding class cost £10 for 1 hour if you choose to continue the class once funding has ended.

We have a Whatsapp support chat group which you are welcome to join.

This class is available for people who live locally in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk and look to reintroduce movement at your own pace.

5km your way


We support the 5km your way at Nowton Park in Bury St Edmunds.

Where: Nowton Park, Bury St Edmunds

What time: Meet at 8.45am outside the cafe.

When: The last Saturday of each month.


Anyone currently receiving treatment (and who feels well enough), has completed treatment, or is post surgery, is welcome.

Please bring family and friends for support.


Support: We are joined by other ambassadors Breast Cancer Surgeon Liz O’Riordan and Angela Jiggins (Macmillan/Oncology Physiotherapist based at West Suffolk Hospital). and Jill Mayhew (retired Nurse who has previously had cancer).

If anyone is keen on tracking their activity to improve adherence and accountability with their fitness, you can become a member of a unique Pinc and Steel Cancer Rehabilitation Foundation Strava community.  The group is for patients and therapists alike who might be involved with, or provide, Pinc and Steel Physiotherapy treatment.


It is hosted by the UK and Ireland regional representatives, who encourage and support all levels of activity, whether your preferred fitness is walking, cycling, swimming, running or inputting manual exercise such as exercise classes you have completed.


There are variable privacy settings, so if you don’t want to share all of your activity, you are not obliged to, nor do we compete against each other!  Support in resuming or progressing your fitness is the aim with this group.
