Lymphoedema Specialist Services

Lymphoedema is a build up of body fluid which causes swelling, skin, and tissue changes and can affect any part of the body. The swelling occurs because of an impaired lymphatic system, which has not developed properly (primary lymphoedema) or when a healthy lymphatic system has been damaged (secondary lymphoedema), this can be due to a number or reasons including trauma, surgery, radiotherapy, infection, venous disease, advanced stages of various conditions and lipoedema

Erica gained accreditation as a lymphoedema therapist at the Lymphoedema Training Academy in 2016 and is also an experienced Chartered Physiotherapist.

Erica works with patients to develop an individualised management plan to help to ease their symptoms and enhance well-being.

Treatment offered includes:

  • Assessment and monitoring of swelling and skin care advice
  • Compression bandaging
  • Measuring for compression garments
  • Treatment of cording

  • Manual lymphatic drainage
  • Kinesio-taping
  • Exercise and movement advice
  • Teaching and education
