Women’s Health Physiotherapy

Physiotherapist Anna Clayton has recently completed additional training to provide a Women’s health service.

Common symptoms during and after pregnancy can include back pain, pelvic girdle pain (PGP), diastasis recti,  incontinence (stress and urge) and sciatica to name a few.

Appropriate treatment will be offered following an assessment.  We will look at what muscles are working too hard and not hard enough to help support your pelvis and lower back.  Often the pelvic floor can already be strong and overactive, resulting in the wrong muscles overcompensating and producing pain symptoms.

If indicated, an internal examination can determine how active your pelvic floor muscles are and what can be done to help your symptoms.  They are just like any other muscle in your body!  Consent forms and information is given prior to this and is not completed unless indicated by symptoms and questionnaire findings.

If you have any queries, please contact the clinic.
