Sports Massage article

Sports massage can improve mood and general health.

Sports massage is designed to help correct problems and imbalances in soft tissue that have been caused by repetitive and strenuous physical activity and trauma.
But it is not just for sports injuries; it can also relieve everyday aches and pains caused by daily living and work.

The benefits are great; you will feel improved flexibility, reduce the risk of injury and boost your circulation.

Pre and post sports massage helps to enhance performance, aid rehabilitation and prevent injury. Holistic massage will promote relaxation, relieving everyday stresses and strains, enhancing and improving sleep patterns, relieving pain caused by bad posture and creating a feeling of general wellbeing.

Sports massage has therapeutic, psychological and physiological benefits, improving mood and general health. It is a skilled manual application of soft tissue using remedial techniques that are selected and performed after careful consultation and recording of medical history and appropriate general and specific assessment.

Pressure and techniques are specific to every individual and their needs. Treatment will include evaluation and monitoring of client, taking into account their age, health, lifestyle, physical capabilities or restrictions and previous work/ sporting history as well as everyday aches and pains.

A highly qualified practitioner, with 16 years’ experience, I have played an important role in the success of Bury Rugby Club, ensuring that players made speedy recoveries as the team progressed through the leagues and into the national league, where the club remains today.

I also offer Reflexology. a simple, natural healing therapy, involving manipulation of the feet, which can relieve many conditions, from headaches, sinus and ear problems to constipation.
