Physical Activity Guidelines

  • The Physical Activity guidelines report released by the UK Chief Medical Officer highlights just how beneficial resistance training and aerobic/circuit training is for adults and older adults.

  • Completing these types of physical activity a couple of times per week showed a strong effect on improving the body’s muscle function, an improvement in bone health and an improvement in balance compared to other physical activity such as running and cycling.

Incorporating these into your lifestyle as well as other physical activities like walking, running, yoga and cycling (to name just a few) allows us to strike a perfect balance to maintain and improve aerobic capacity alongside strength, balance and bone health.

For information about exercise at home or the gym here at Bury Physio, please speak to Ben Durham, our Personal Trainer and he will guide you through a plan to kick start your activity, exercise, health and well being.
