Advanced Skin Care Therapist
With a wealth of experience and training in all aspects of the beauty industry, it’s the science that interests me the most. My two specialist areas are electrolysis and skincare.
Trained at the London College of Fashion (now part of The University of the Arts). LCF is renowned for London Fashion Week. When I trained it had a centre for beauty and hairdressing that went with the catwalk fashion.
Our training was rigorous; it even included cosmetic chemistry and product formulation. But I loved the science behind the products and it was that area I pursued rather than beauty.
After a few years spent working in salons in London – including the Selfridges Spa – I got my teaching qualification from Greenwich University.
I suppose I went full circle when I got a lecturing post back at LCF, teaching on the Foundation Degree for Beauty Therapy and Health Studies – working with the same team who had taught me. Analysis and questioning mean you never take anything you’re told for granted!

This is the permanent removal of hair and is a treatment for both women and men. This method of hair removal is not influenced by colour of hair nor limited by body area. I work in sessions of 15 minutes up to two hours.
I trained 25 years ago, so I have many years of experience and work with an Apilus machine which is modern, fast, efficient, and virtually painless due to its digital settings. If you have had electrolysis before, you will find this machine provides a quick, comfortable treatment.
All electrolysis clients require a Consultation session regardless as to whether they have received this treatment elsewhere previously. There will be medical conditions that prohibit electrolysis or restrict it, and these will be covered at the Consultation.
I can remove common blemishes such as skin tags, warts, milia, verrucas and facial thread veins using either diathermy (heat) or cryotherapy (freezing).
A Consultation is required and referral to your GP might be needed in some circumstances.
Get it Seen. Get it Checked. Get it Gone!
Our Electrolysis and Skin Care therapist, Geraldine Walters, is now providing a Mole Checking Service. It’s quick, reassuring and convenient and could be of use to you or family if you have a mole, or any skin blemish that’s worrying you, or you want safely removed.
MapMyMole is a dermatology led mole and skin lesion assessment programme, run by a team of consultant dermatologists and specialist skin clinicians. They review high quality images to check any areas of concern quickly and accurately without the long waits to see your GP or high costs at private hospitals.
During your appointment detailed images of any moles or lesions are taken using a specialist camera lens provided by MapMyMole. These images are then securely sent to a consultant dermatologist, who provides a clear written report for you.
The assessment process is fast — results typically arrive within a few days. If the dermatologist confirms that a lesion is benign, and suitable for cosmetic treatment, Geraldine can offer removal here in clinic.
Other common concerns such as skin tags, milia, thread veins, and seborrhoeic keratoses can all be treated quickly, with diathermy which is a form of advanced electrolysis. Not all blemishes need to be checked by a doctor but a mandatory consultation will show any blemishes that just need a closer look.
Prices: TheMapMyMole Service fee is £85 for the first blemish and an additional £20 each for up to two more.
Removal of blemishes starts at £75 for Spider Naevi up to £150 for mole reduction. All blemishes are quoted for at time of Consultation which is bookable on line. All blemish removal requires a Consultation.

All Consultations and electrolysis treatments can be booked through the link on my website www.geraldinewalters.co.uk where there is more information about me.
Please click on the Book Appointment box on the Home page. A booking fee is required, or payment can be made in full via Stripe.
I am unable to take all bookings by phone, so please endeavor to use the online system where you can. It does also allow you to move and cancel within certain time frames.
I still have a clinic in Diss – on Wednesdays and Fridays – and currently this is where I also provide skin care treatments for conditions such as acne, rosacea and pigmentation using a range of products and techniques.
I plan to add facial therapies to Bury Physio in the near future.
