What is Speech and Language Therapy?

Speech and Language Therapy provides treatment, support, and care for both children and adults with difficulties in communication, as well as eating, drinking, and swallowing.

  • Therapists assess and treat issues related to speech, language, and communication to help people communicate more effectively.
  • This can include problems with
    • articulation (making sounds)
    • fluency (like stuttering)
    • voice quality.

 

  • Therapy helps with a wide range of issues, such as
    • Difficulties with speech sound production
    • Developmental language disorders
    • Selective mutism
    • Problems following a stroke or due to brain damage
    • Eating, drinking, and swallowing difficulties.

Appointments are available Monday evening and Saturday morning.
