Stress incontinence and women’s health problems

If you have ever wet your self laughing you will know that it is not funny. One in three women experience bladder control problems. These can cause leakage when running laughing, coughing and jumping and urgency that can rule your day.

Our specially trained women’s health physiotherapists can assess you to find the underlying cause of your problem. Exercise to strengthen your pelvic floor and retraining your bladder can put you back in control again.

Physiotherapy also helps with the symptoms of prolapse by increasing the strength of the pelvic floor muscles.  This is  particularly helpful for those who wish to avoid or delay surgery for prolapse for exmaple to have anothe r child.

A short coure of physiotherapy to learn pelvic floor and core stability post childbirth is an investment in your future health and wellbeing.   It will help prevent stress and urge incontinence and will improve your posture and reduce the strain on your  back at a time when your life involves lifting and carrying small children.
