Personal training at Bury Physio
Exercise is an essential method of keeping healthy, with so many exercises to try it can be difficult to know which is right for you. Here at BuryPhysio we offer exercise programming, gym inductions and 1-1 guidance for all ages, abilities and conditions.
How Does Personal Training work?
Upon arrival at BuryPhysio your qualified trainer will begin the session with a few questions about your previous exercise experiences; this is to establish a starting point for your future goals and objectives. Next, you are shown around the gym and given in depth knowledge of the equipment and machines to ensure you are confident with their functions, your trainer might encourage you to try some of these particularly if it relates to your conditions or goals. Afterwards you and your trainer can discus any limitations or concerns you might have about exercising and plan the session around these highlighted areas. With this information in mind your trainer can produce a programme for you to perform; this can be for guided gym sessions or independent exercising.
Do I need/ Can I have a trainer with me when I use the exercise?
At BuryPhysio we aim to provide the most comprehensive treatments, if you would like the assistance, structure and confidence that a trainer brings we can offer 1hour and 0.5hour sessions at competitive rates. If this interests you, schedule an appointment at reception. Alternatively, a programme can be designed for you to perform independently at the gym or at home.
How often/ how long do I need to exercise?
Your trainer will discuss with you the frequency and duration of your workouts and can also produce a work out schedule. The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) guidelines for the general population encourage the performance of 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise 5-7 times a week and 30 minutes of strength training and conditioning 3-5 times a week. However, this is not always the most applicable frequency and personal workout regimes can be organized with your trainer.
How do I progress my health and fitness/set new goals and objectives?
Your trainer can review your programme and exercise regime at a time that is convenient for you, new goals can be recognized and set enabling you to get the most out of your exercises. Typical goals include but are not limited to; loosing a dress size, improved flexibility reduced stiffness and pain, reduced risk of injury, increasing functional strength, developing the cardiovascular system, sports specific performance development etc.
